Questions
Frequently asked
Do I need trading or finance experience?
No. Most analysts join knowing very little about commodities. Desk heads train new members, and the weekly brief format teaches you fast.
Which majors do you accept?
All of them. Our members study business, economics, engineering, data science, international affairs and more.
How much time does it take?
Roughly 3–5 hours a week: a desk meeting, research for your brief, and the general meeting or speaker session.
When can I apply?
Fall 2026 applications closed on September 18, 2026. We recruit every semester: register interest below and we'll email you when Spring 2027 applications open.
Can first-years apply?
Yes. First-years and transfer students are encouraged to apply every semester.
Can I join if I'm not selected for a desk?
Absolutely. General meetings, speaker sessions and socials are open to every Northeastern student.
What do analysts actually produce?
A one-page weekly analyst brief: the headline, key numbers, two exhibits, who wins and loses, and what to watch next.
